The tradition of the McMullen Family gathering on the Fourth of July began in 1925 as they gathered to celebrate what would be the 100th year of Daniel McMullen's birth. Born July 12, 1885, Daniel was the fourth of seven sons born to James and Rebecca Fain McMullen.
Some 98 years later, on this year's 4th of July, 150 descendants of the seven McMullen brothers gathered once again. Following the Pledge of Allegiance, singing of God Bless America, a prayer for God's blessings and an afternoon lunch, folks shared in fellowship and revisited the amazing history of this great pioneer family. Descendants traveled from far and wide to attend...some as far away as California and Spain.
