Christmas Tubs for our Coast Guard

The Largo Area Historical Society is committed to honoring our service members this coming holiday season by providing Tubs for Troops to six Coast Guard stations between Ft. Myers/Naples and Crystal River and also Jacksonville.

Our Goal

Our goal is to fill six 27-gallon tubs with small personal items that service members can use while standing 24-hour duty periods. We need your help! Please consider donating items from the list below:

• Snacks – individually wrapped granola bars, trail mix, nuts, beef jerky, crackers, candy (NO CHOCOLATE PLEASE)
• Flavored Water Packets – individually wrapped
• Decorations – seasonal, small table top sized
• Puzzle Books – word search, sudoku, crossword, etc.
• Personal Care Toiletries – travel size
• Games – small handheld, Uno, Yahtzee, Battleship (travel size), etc.
• Letters/Cards/Drawings – personalized with your message of support.

Donations must be collected and ready to go by mid-November in order for them to be delivered before Christmas. Many of these donation items are available at dollar-type stores. If you would prefer to make a cash contribution, rest assured that every penny will be spent on items to fill these tubs for our troops. Please help us make these service members aware of our gratitude for their service to each of us and our country. Thank you in advance for your support.
